Project Children's Move to Monaghan Peace Campus
To mark the 50th anniversary milestone for Project Children, and to ensure its message of peace through the eyes of children spreads for generations, Project Children has forged a cultural partnership with Monaghan County Council and the Peace Campus in Monaghan town, dedicated to cross community and cross border peace initiatives across the island of Ireland.
This partnership will see the protection, preservation and perpetuation of the charity's 50 year legacy at the Monaghan Peace Campus. This state of the art building will showcase the archives of this iconic organization, that offered 23,000 children a summer reprieve in America from the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
Project Children are pleased to have Catherine Flood and Linda Croston of Croston Flood Recruiting, Consulting and Events to help spearhead the archival, community engagement and fundraising efforts both in the US and Ireland.

Tour of Clones and North Monaghan (9am - 3pm)
Join us for a guided visit featuring stops at our key sponsors, Castle Leslie Estate and Mullan Lighting, followed by a journey to the historic monastic town of Clones. Highlights include the Ulster Canal Stores Visitor Centre and the Clones Lace Museum, with the day concluding at the beautiful Hilton Park. Ticketed event.

The Monaghan Peace Campus will be open to the public for guided tours of the Project Children archive and learn more about the impactful work of Project Children. Discover the campus' facilities, initiatives, and the positive changes being made in the community.

Hike Sliabh Beagh/Bragan Mountains (9am - 3pm)
Join us for a half-day, 12km looped hike led by an experienced local guide, starting from the Sliabh Beagh Hotel & Tourism Centre in Knockatallon village. Please note that the hike will take you across rough cross-country uplands, so a moderate level of fitness is required. We recommend wearing appropriate hiking footwear and outdoor clothing. This outing is weather dependent and is limited to a maximum of 20 attendees. Ticketed event.

Exploration of South County Monaghan & Kavanagh Country (9am - 3:30pm)
Discover the charm of South County Monaghan and Kavanagh Country with visits to the Carrickmacross Workhouse and the Patrick Kavanagh Centre in Inniskeen village. The tour also includes stops at the Brehon Brewhouse, Carrickmacross Lace Gallery, and the unique St. Peter’s Tin Church in Laragh. Ticketed event.

Golf Concra (9am - 4pm)
Enjoy a day of scenic sport at the stunning Concra Wood Golf Course, overlooking Lough Muckno. Participants can take on the 18-hole championship course at a reduced fee rate, with club hire, electric trolleys and buggies available for an additional cost. Club Hire is available through clubs4hire.com. Clubs will be delivered directly to the course before your tee time and collected afterward. The course offers a memorable challenge for all skill levels, and guests are welcome to unwind in the restaurant following their round.

Monaghan Society of New York Community Gathering: Honoring Monaghan Immigrants and Project Children Supporters (12:30pm – 3pm)
Location: Carrickroe Community Center, Carrickroe, Co. Monaghan H18PW08Join the Monaghan Society of New York for a heartfelt community gathering to honor the legacy and contributions of Monaghan immigrants and Project Children supporters across generations.
This special event welcomes locals, and visitors from the US to reflect on a shared heritage and celebrate enduring transatlantic ties, along with enjoying some tasty bites at "The Village Brew Café".
Enjoy light refreshments, entertainment, and remarks from special guests as we pay tribute to those who left Monaghan to build new lives abroad, while maintaining deep roots in their homeland.
